How to play

Origin: Sam-Yuk-Gu (삼육구) is a fixture of Korean hoesik, the after work dinner with colleagues. It needs nothing but a table full of people, which is why it usually opens the evening.

How to play:

  1. Count around the table: one, two, three ...
  2. If the number contains a 3, 6 or 9, clap once instead of saying it
  3. Two matching digits mean two claps, for example 36 or 39
  4. The pace speeds up every round

Drinking:

  • Say a number that should have been a clap and you drink
  • Clap when the number should have been spoken and you drink
  • Hesitate too long and you drink

Escalation: From 60 on, count backwards. Anyone still keeping up has not been drinking enough.
