How to play

Origin: In Korea the game is named after the ice cream chain Baskin Robbins and its 31 flavours. Mathematically it is the old European Nim counting game, only with a soju glass instead of matchsticks.

How to play:

  1. Going around, each player says one, two or three consecutive numbers out loud
  2. Start at one
  3. Whoever has to say 31 loses

Drinking:

  • Say 31, drink, and start the next round
  • Miscount or go past 31 and you drink double

Note: The game is solvable. Claim 30, 26, 22, 18, 14, 10, 6 and 2 and you win every time. That is why from round three on the direction flips whenever someone says a single number.
